From poet to playwright.

The monologue, Different and Unafraid, was written and directed by Carol and performed by Marquis Heath, as part of the Spring Short Play festival in May 2019 at Manhattan Repertory Theatre in New York City.

Carol was selected to be a playwright in"Art in the Public Eye", a 24-hour play fest at the Charles R Wood Theater in Glens Falls, NY on February 7-8, 2020. Her ten minute play, Three on Board, won a 2nd Place Director accolade for Emily Murphy.

Carol’s play Broom und Glam was among the 62 one-minute plays, selected and performed on Zoom in the One Minute Play Festival on Friday April 10, 2020. The event was created by Queens Theatre’s Director of Community Engagement, Dominic D’Andrea.

Another Durant original, Center of Lying Down, was recently cast and performed on Zoom by Quarantine e-Theater, as a wildly successful fundraiser for Black Theatre Troupe of Upstate New York.

Carol’s full length play, The Date, was performed via Zoom on Wednesday August 26th, 2020 as part of the Hudson Valley Online: DG Footlights™ program by Dramatists Guild of America. Carol’s additional roles for this performance were casting and directing.
